Until The Next Time

We are still recovering from two amazing shows in Paris and are busy getting ourselves ready for normal life tomorrow. I don't have time to say a lot. We are so sad our tour is over but looking forward to the next one and it's good to leave on a high.

We saw four shows in total and heard 56 different songs. Of those Bruce sang 13 every night and 25 only once.

This was the first tour we didn't do on 'our own'. Choosing to sit means we have random people around us whereas, I imagine, in the pit queue fans see each other regularly and so form friendships.

Some people say that the fans in the pit are the only true fans and the rest of us form the
Prawn-Sandwich-Brigade.

Towards the end of the WOAD tour we made friends of our own and on this tour we met their friends, who became our friends and so the circle grows wider.  Most, if not all, of these new found Bruce buddies wait in line, get numbers and attend roll calls. They do all this to get hold of a cherished wrist band and generally go through hell or high water (lots of high water this year) to get in the pit.

We, on the other hand, stroll up at 7.00pm after a morning of sightseeing, a leisurely lunch and an afternoon snooze. We buy a drink and are shown to our reserved seat from where we survey the crowd. We like to savour the atmosphere, see who we can spot in the pit and watch the venue fill up.

Does this make us lesser fans?  I don't think so and I don't think that any of our friends would say so either.

We are still true fans and, anyway, I don't really care for prawn sandwiches.
