It's proving difficult to find any reviews for the European shows but Stan Goldstein has hit the nail on the head again here:-

One of the many reasons fans go to multiple Bruce Springsteen shows is that he always changes up the set list.   The best examples of that is when Bruce performs back-to-back shows in the same city.Friday night in Barcelona Spain, saw Bruce and the E Street Band play 11 songs that they didn't play on Thursday.

We were gobsmacked over here when the first two songs came up so I can't imagine what it must have been like to be there. It must have been a real shock to the system as you are gearing up for Badlands or We Take Care Of Our Own and Bruce pulls out ... Night

I understand Loose Ends was sound checked along with Spirit In the Night.  Loose Ends is one of my absolute favourites but as we retired gracefully to our bed it still hadn't been played.  It's a measure of how involved you can get from 900 odd miles away when this morning Mike said to me  'You didn't get Loose Ends last night'.  I wouldn't have got it anyway - I wasn't there!

There were quite a few people on GL last night having a stiff drink to help with the shock of not being at the show and at least one person threatened to shoot themselves! I thought I would have a serious case of setlist envy during the tour but it hasn't happened. It goes without saying that I would like to be going to more shows, but if I can't be there, it helps to know friends are standing in your stead and appreciating every move, every word, every pluck of the guitar sting or beat of the drum.

Anyway, here is the full set list.  Probably the most surprising (and arguably the best) set list of the tour, yet nothing new. Only goes to prove that you don't need a premier to make it an epic show.

Barcelona 17th May 2012 - show 23

So Barcelona tonight - the second largest city in Spain. The capital is Madrid.

I didn't anticipate how excited I would be last night - a sort of excitement by proxy.  We know quite a number of people who were in Barcelona, and because I knew how stoked they would be, I got quite giddy myself.

We followed the set list up to about half way.  Tiredness set in - you don't get quite the same adrenaline rush sat on the sofa at home.

Here's a brief mention of the gig from Backstreets :-

Springsteen and the E Street Band clearly came to Barcelona to rock. Along with burners like "Youngstown," "Murder Inc.," "Johnny 99" and "Born in the U.S.A.," out goes the "Apollo Medley," and in come "You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)" and "Hungry Heart." But the shocker of the night answers 30+ years of hope and dreams: "Prove It All Night" is played with the legendary extended introduction from the 1978 Darkness tour. Full report to come.

A confession here - I'm full of them lately.  Prove it All Night with the legendary intro from 1978, which caused such a furore around the net, is not legendary in this house. I love the song and I'm sure this version has been discussed many times but it's obviously passed me buy. I've caught up today though.

So the full set list - what about that time !!!
